Pattee Family » 30-Minute Portrait Session » New Orleans Garden District
Over the course of 15 years running my photography business, I’ve worked to create three different session options that can fit most family and portrait client needs: 30-minutes, 1.5-hours, and 3-hours. I chose to share this session, as it’s a great example of what we can capture in a 30-minute timeframe. Despite the big Louisiana rain drops cutting the session a little shorter, the Pattee family still got a nice variety of settings, family groupings, the kids, and the parents.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with this happy family on two occasions, during their periodic visits to the New Orleans area. While the rain secluded us to the covered front porch for part of our session, I was able to brighten up the dreary day with a little sparkle from my speedlight. As they had a plane to catch the day after our session, we didn’t have the luxury of rescheduling for the weather. But if you follow my work, you know that I actually love to shoot in overcast and even moody skies, so I’m honestly happy that we didn’t have the chance to wait for a sunny day!
So if you’ve ever wondered what we can photograph in a reduced timeframe, here’s an example of what a typical 30-minute session looks like! These are 15 of my personal favorites from their session, but their gallery had 65 images to select their own favorites.
